Set quietly and prominently on a cove in suburban Germantown, one of Tennessee’s safest cities, Crestwyn Behavioral Health is a state-of-the-art behavioral health facility that provides care for adolescents, ages 12 to 17, and adults, aged 18 and older, with mental health and substance use disorders.
Crestwyn welcomes you with a covered breezeway and building entry surrounded by trees, fields, and seasonal flora and fauna with plentiful, spacious parking. Our high-end facility is outfitted with safe, comfortable, and bright patient care rooms for respite and courtyard areas for relaxation with a large gymnasium allowing patients opportunities for exercise and recreation.
Care at Crestwyn is founded on the principles of excellent care, phenomenal customer service, and an unparalleled commitment to our patients, staff, physicians, and community. Our vision is to be recognized as a leading behavioral health hospital. We strive to be known for our understanding of and sensitivity to our patients and their families; appreciation and practical integrated application of the most current practices of psychotherapy, psychodynamic clinical care, and psychoeducation; and engagement and cooperation with persons and organizations working together for the benefit of our patients and our community.
Our staff is comprised of a team of passionate individuals who are committed to providing the care you or loved one needs to manage mental health symptoms and break free from substance abuse. Our staff includes board-certified psychiatrists, counselors, nurses, social workers, activity therapists, and teachers who are unified in their desire to help those in their care to heal. Members of our staff also possess specialized training in Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) models of treatment.
We are pleased to provide a range of care options, including acute crisis stabilization and inpatient care with programs divided by age. This division by age is one piece of our overall commitment to providing individualized care for everyone who comes to heal with us. We are not in the business of providing one-size-fits-all treatment. Rather, we work closely with each individual in our care to ensure that he or she has a treatment plan that best addresses his or her unique strengths, goals, and treatment needs. We consider treatment plans to be “living documents” that can he adjusted throughout the treatment process to account for changes in our patients’ symptoms and level of functioning. The end result is that no two treatment plans are exactly alike, and each person receives the best possible treatment for his or her needs.
These individualized treatment plans may include a number of different interventions, such as:
- Individual therapy: Patients meet for regular sessions with a highly trained counselor for individual, personalized one-on-one support.
- Family therapy: At Crestwyn, we recognize that mental illness and substance abuse does not just affect individuals, but can have effects on entire families. We are pleased to provide family therapy services based upon individual need and the family’s geographic location.
- Group therapy: Groups are a foundational component of treatment at Crestwyn. Led by counselors, nurses, and mental health technicians, groups give patients opportunities to hear others and be heard by others, build and practice skills, and support and be supported by their peers. We offer a number of groups including community, psychoeducation, 12-Step recovery, anger management, goal-setting, medication support, suicide prevention, treatment options, recovery skills, healthy relationships, and others depending on patients’ needs.
- Medication management: Patients who would benefit from including medications into their treatment regimens can take advantage of our medication management services. Patients in need of medications meet with a psychiatrist at least once per day, and nurses and nurse practitioners assist with day-to-day administration of medications to ensure that patients do not miss doses, are being helped by their medications, and are not experiencing severe side-effects.
Treatment at Crestwyn is based on positive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational enhancement, and other treatment modalities. Patients typically stay in our inpatient care programs for 10 to 14 days, though the length of stay depends upon each patient’s individual needs.
As described above, we offer unique programs of care for both adolescents and adults.
Our adolescent mental health and dual diagnosis program is specially designed to meet the needs of young men and women ages 12 and older, though we are also able to accept 10- and 11-year-olds if clinically appropriate. Adolescents in this program must be experiencing symptoms of a mental health disorder and/or substance use disorder. In this program, adolescents will receive a range of the services listed above to enable them to build a foundation for good mental health throughout their lives.
Our adult program is designed for men and women aged 18 and older with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Adults in this program benefit from the interventions described above, tailored to their unique needs, and a typical stay in this program lasts 7 to 10 days, depending on individual needs.
At Crestwyn, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art care for adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance use disorders. If you or someone you love might benefit from the care that we provide, please do not hesitate to contact us at your earliest convenience.
