In order to deliver care that appropriately addresses those in need, we offer two separate inpatient programs. One of these inpatient programs is designed to meet the needs of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. However, in some circumstances, when it is deemed appropriate, 10 year olds and 11 year olds may receive care in this program. The other inpatient program is designed for adults aged 18 and older. The details of these programs are discussed briefly in the following:
Adult Inpatient Treatment
At Crestwyn Behavioral Health, we view each person who walks through our doors as the unique individual that he or she is. Bearing that in mind, we know that everyone comes to us with different sets of needs and concerns, and are all at different places in their lives. For this reason, we deliver care that is fully customized to meet each man and woman’s specific needs so that he or she is able to achieve his or her treatment goals, and ultimately experience healing on a profound level.
Those who receive treatment in our adult inpatient program can benefit from participation in the following therapeutic elements and interventions:
Detoxification: When individuals come to Crestwyn battling a chemical dependency concern, they may benefit from receiving medically-monitored detoxification services. Detoxification, or detox, is the physiological process of having substances of abuse removed from an individual’s system. When people arrive at Crestwyn with drugs and/or alcohol in their bodies, they can benefit from partaking in detox prior to fully engaging in the therapeutic aspect of programming.
Medication management: Meetings with a psychiatrist are scheduled on a daily basis for patients who require pharmaceutical interventions in order to help alleviate the distress that they experience as a result of the symptoms that plague them. In addition to these sessions, nurse practitioners and nurses monitor the administration of any medications that have been prescribed.
Individual therapy: Individual therapy allows patients to receive confidential, one-to-one counseling sessions with their primary counselors. In this setting, patients have the freedom to discuss anything that they wish to discuss without judgment.
Group therapy: Group therapy sessions at Crestwyn are led by nurses, counselors, and mental health technicians. During these sessions, patients benefit from not only receiving various levels of education, but also in being able to give and receive support to and from other individuals who may be experiencing struggles that are similar to their own.
Family therapy: At Crestwyn Behavioral Health, we recognize that family members are not only impacted by the illnesses that their loved ones are suffering from, but that they can also be of monumental help and support as their loved ones work towards healing. For this reason, we incorporate family therapy sessions into our patients’ treatment plans when indicated as being beneficial to the patient’s care and based on the family members’ proximity to Crestwyn.
Adolescent Inpatient Treatment
At Crestwyn Behavioral Health, we recognize that when adolescents are suffering from the symptoms of mental health disorders or substance abuse issues, the treatment that they receive must be different from that which is offered to adults. Adolescents are not only at a completely different developmental stage, but the symptoms of the disorders that they suffer from will impact them differently than they will adults. For this reason, the care offered in our adolescent inpatient program is tailored to meet the unique and specific needs of young people.
The adolescent inpatient program offers young patients the same therapeutic interventions that are offered in our adult inpatient program. However, the aspects of these interventions are individualized to be appropriate to the stage of life that each adolescent is in. In order to meet adolescents where they are, we, at Crestwyn, feel that it is of the utmost importance to ensure that academic progress is not hindered when an adolescent engages in programming at our center. As such, in addition to medication management services, detoxification services, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
In order to best meet the needs of those who are entrusted into our care, here at Crestwyn Behavioral Health, we employ individuals who are experts in their respective fields. Those who make up our exemplary treatment teams include the following:
- Board-certified psychiatrists
- Social workers
- Activity therapists
